About Tungsten
Has the highest melting point of all elements at 3,422C. Used in incandescent light bulb filaments. Tungsten carbide is almost as hard as diamond and used in cutting tools. The name means heavy stone in Swedish. Used in armor-piercing ammunition and radiation shielding. China produces about 80% of the worlds tungsten.
