About Technetium
The first artificially produced element. All isotopes are radioactive, none are stable. Named from the Greek technetos meaning artificial. Technetium-99m is the most widely used radioisotope in medical diagnostic imaging. Detected in the spectra of some stars, showing that nucleosynthesis occurs in stars. Produced as a byproduct of nuclear fission.
