About Rhenium

The last stable element ever discovered, named after the Rhine river. Rhenium keeps its strength near 2000 Celsius, so single crystal turbine blades in jet engines contain several percent of it. One of the rarest metals in the crust with no ore of its own, always recovered as a byproduct. Rhenium catalysts helped produce lead-free gasoline.
