About Radon
A radioactive gas that seeps from soil and rock into basements, and the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. Invisible, odorless, and tasteless. Discovered in Germany from uranium ore samples. Radon testing of homes is now routine in much of the world. In the early 1900s radon spas sold the gas as a health treatment, one of many radioactive cure fads.
