About Neon

The fifth most abundant element in the universe but rare on Earth. Neon signs produce a distinctive reddish-orange glow. Actually only produces red light, other colors come from different gases. Used in lasers, vacuum tubes, and high-voltage indicators. Liquid neon is an important cryogenic refrigerant. The name means new in Greek.
