About Platinum
One of the rarest and most valuable precious metals. Used in catalytic converters, jewelry, and laboratory equipment. The international kilogram prototype was made of platinum-iridium alloy. Platinum compounds are used in chemotherapy drugs like cisplatin. Found mainly in South Africa, which produces about 70% of global supply. The name means little silver in Spanish.
