About Fermium
Also born in the Ivy Mike hydrogen bomb fireball of 1952, and named after Enrico Fermi, architect of the first nuclear reactor. The heaviest element that can be formed by neutron capture alone. Pure fermium has never been seen: only invisible specks exist, and they boil away with heat from their own radioactivity. A research curiosity only.
