About Uranium
The heaviest naturally abundant element. Named after the planet Uranus. Enriched uranium-235 is used in nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons. Depleted uranium is used in armor-piercing ammunition. The Oklo natural reactor in Gabon underwent nuclear fission naturally 1.7 billion years ago. A single pellet of uranium produces the same energy as 1 ton of coal.
